Worship Team

The major role of the Worship Team is to provide support that contributes to a meaningful worship experience for our congregation, visitors and guests. This includes Sunday worship and other special services throughout the year. This goal is achieved by team members rotating as head usher, communion organized by a liaison to our team, and a grid system we established that assigns the ushers, greeters, and liturgists quarterly. Another responsibility is working with our minister(s) redecorating the sanctuary for the different seasons of the liturgical year. The team is also responsible for the functioning of the sound system and the hearing aid devices. The Worship Team also arranges for guest ministers on those Sundays when a pastor is not available and an interim minister has not been called.

The team meets its need for smaller items as they arise, i.e. purchasing candles, batteries, lighters, etc. Currently, we are researching the purchase of new communion plates and chalice. In addition to the above, we anticipate a need for the following items in the coming year:

(1)  Pulpit supply ($100/speaker/Sunday);
(2)  A tall sturdy stepladder to remove and hang banners;
(3)  Rods and hooks for storage of paraments and banners in the sacristy;
(4)  Covers for Easter banner storage;
(5)  Fabric for new banners and sanctuary decorations, as needed;
(6)  New Christmas decorations, as needed;
(7)  A new set of plastic candle cups for candlelight services.
