Adult Education
Sunday Morning Adult Study Group
Each Sunday morning at 8:45, the Adult Study Group gathers to discuss theology, scripture and the intersection of Christian thought and our modern world. It is a casual, drop-in group with lively discussion and plenty of room for multiple points of view. The group often selects a theological book and works its way through it. Recent selections have been Sins of the Scriptures by John Shelby Spong, The Heart of Christianity by Marcus Borg and One River, Many Wells by Matthew Fox.
Monthly Lunch
The Monthly Lunch group, which has met on the third Monday of the month for nine years, has decided to take a sabbatical and not hold meetings this Fall . They plan to meet again to discuss their future, which will probably include 5 sessions beginning in January. Those may be all lecture format or some peer led discussions about opinions and experiences or book reviews. Watch for word of their next planning session and take part in the conversation and decisions.
Lenten Series
During Lent Edgewood offers a weekly Lenten Series. Each year the format is a little different but has included worship, an Environmental Justice film series and an Economic Justice film series. Gatherings are usually led by Edgewood members and friends.
