Edgewood participates in many of the outreach programs organized through the ecumenical Christian Services office such as collecting personal needs items, backpacks and school supplies, and children’s clothing.

Edgewood is a "Five for Five" church. This means Edgewood donates to five UCC Special Offerings. For 2011-2012, these are

• Year-round: Our Church's Wider Mission (The Outreach and Mission Team contributes a portion of its annual budget to this fund.)

This is perhaps one of the most interesting and colorful of Edgewood’s projects. Members bring in extra produce or plants from their gardens throughout the spring, summer and fall. Other members buy the plants and  produce after worship and the money is donated to recipients in the Lansing area and in sub-Saharan Africa.
June - September

Edgewood members prepare and deliver evening meals to a local shelter twice a month.
1st and 3rd Wednesdays year round

During the Advent season Edgewood sells Heifer and Unicef gifts as alternatives to regular Christmas shopping and as a way to give a gift twice, once to the recipient and once to those in need.

Edgewood supports Habitat financially and organizes work crews for the Interfaith Home Builds.

Edgewood is a partner organization with GLNAWI, which works on peace efforts, education, and social justice issues.

Holiday times are especially difficult for those in prison. Each year Edgewood folks purchase toys and other gifts and travel to the local prison. We meet with the women incarcerated there and help them select and wrap gifts for their children.
