Finance Team
The Finance Team is committed to responsible stewardship of our financial resources, which support Edgewood’s ministry and mission. We are responsible for developing the annual budget for congregational approval at the annual meeting. We review the monthly report submitted by our bookkeeper to be presented at the monthly Council meetings and, in general, monitor financial records to make sure we are on track. It is our job to alert Council and the congregation when financial issues need wider attention. The team oversees the investment committee, which is in charge of developing policy for investing and managing our assets. Finance team members collect the offering on Sunday morning and make sure cash donations are recorded and the offering is secure. The team conducts periodic internal audits to make sure our books are in order. Finance is also responsible for initiating capital campaigns. Those of us on the Finance Team feel a strong calling to protect and grow our collective financial resources as a way of sustaining Edgewood’s legacy of social justice and inclusive ministry.
