The Christian Education team is strongly committed to creating a vibrant, Spirit-filled Christian Education program for children and youth.  Our mission is to ensure that the program empowers and stimulates young people to seek to know and experience God through their faith and to care for one another and our world.  Our mission is to lead them to discoveries of important truths, through the Bible and other stories of God’s greatness, and to the realization of their full human potential.  We will provide a safe, nurturing environment that allows us to celebrate and experience God and the Holy Spirit.  We will provide spiritual learning and the love of Jesus the Christ as a model of service as a living presence among us.

Through faithful volunteers and program staff leadership, the CE program has blossomed and provides: youth outings, mission trips, and lock-ins; Our Whole Lives sexuality education; service projects; holiday workshops; family pride picnic activities; Edgewood morning camp programs; and annual volunteer recruitment and recognition. 

We envision a ministry that will not only meet the spiritual needs of infants through senior high school youth, but inclusive ministries that will provide support to parents of Edgewood members and friends.  Most recently we launched the Parents’ Night Out, and are planning for a parent support group / creative parenting in the fall of 2011.
